My Daughter Tall and Fantastic

by Denise

My daughter, Rachelle came to me as 5lbs 1 ounce and 19 inches of wonderment. Scared to death of her at the same time loving every micron of her.

Over the last 36 yrs of her life she has grown into a fantastic woman, mother, wife, and my oldest of 3 children. Her father was 6'7" tall and I'm a short 5'8". She got the majority of her genetic make up from his side of the family. His mom and her mom were both very tall over 6' each.

She was teased, taunted, and had many feelings of being not like the "regular sized" girls. Do you have any idea how hard it was in her Junior year of high school to find the famous "Banana colored Reeboks" in size 11? Now shoe sizes are even harder for her to find as not only does she have a wide foot but topped out to a size 12.

I know of only one tall woman who could come close to filling her shoes with all she has given to others, that is Jene', the creator of this website who I've had the honor to know personally.

My daughter and her look much like each other, have several common traits. My daughter is tall, has the most beautiful skin a woman of any size would envy, killer eyes that shine brilliantly at you, and a smile to rock most people's socks off. Her husband is shorter than her by a few inches, but like Jene' says in her site "...a tall woman doesn't need a tall man physically but a man who stands tall for who he is."

The two of them have blessed me with a "tall" grandson who is over 5' tall at the age of 10 and growing taller now at 12.

On this site on the blogs most tall women have had many insecurities to over come in their growing up and I just wanted to pass it on that the most important thing Rachelle has shown me in her life is to be true to yourself first and let the rest follow and praise you for who you have become.
