Let’s go shopping for Tall Womens Clothing!

But where?

If you’re like me, you’re a tall woman and you do have clothing, but almost none of it is designed specifically to fit a tall woman. You make do with whatever you can fit into, whether because of availability or the exorbitant expense.

There’s no getting away from the fact that there are more tall women than there used to be, and as time marches on, not only will there be more tall women than there are now—but they’re going to be even taller.

When will the fashion industry recognize this? They see us a “niche” market now, but that niche is getting deeper all the time. Either they see little profit in catering to us tall women, or they seek to maximize what little profit they expect by charging high prices for tall clothing—thus turning us tall women into . . .

...help me here, what’s deeper than a niche?

Oh yes—they want to put us into a GOUGE market.

Nice affordable clothes that fit the way they’re supposed to. Not clothes that fit in ways that lead people to look at what you’re wearing, and say things like:

“What a cute crop top!” Why, thank you. Only it’s not meant to be a crop top, it’s supposed to be just a top.

Or, “What cute clam diggers!” Wrong, but at least they didn’t say “flood pants”.

Or, “Are those culottes?” No, but it’s a lot less trouble to say “Yes”, than to try and explain they’re wide-leg pants, or what they used to call “bell bottoms.”

How about tall womens clothing like:

Extra wide shoes that look feminine.

Knee high boots that really are knee high.

Thigh high stockings that really are thigh high.

Ankle length skirts that actually fall below the calves to our ankles.

Long sleeves that reach our wrists.

Coats long enough that our skirts don’t show several inches below the hem.

Maternity tops that cover that stretch panel on the maternity pants—and stretch panels that don’t max out halfway up to your belly button.

Pants and jeans long enough to hide the color of my socks—heck, pants long enough to let me wear socks, period.

Active wear that we can actually be ACTIVE in!

Oh, and let’s not forget special occasion clothing , whether for the holidays, parties year round, and weddings. We tall women want to look extra special, too, and why shouldn’t we? We have the extra special height, so why not make the most of it?

And we like to talk about clothes and shopping just like all women, because it’s fun . . . so let’s talk and have fun!
